Ignite your kid’s Passion for learning by enrolling them in our one-of-a-kind STEM Adventure Summer Camps! Learn and have fun with STEM-based activities and enjoy an exciting Wednesday Field Trip to camp-themed museums and other attractions in the DC-MD-VA area. Have fun while you learn in our STEM programs. Our camps are carefully crafted to provide kids with loads of fun while keeping them engaged in problem solving, creativity, inspiring them to begin achieving their life goals. This year’s camps are new improved sure to be exciting and memorable.

Overview

  • Campers will be taught by top educators who love technology, sciences, and engineering with expertise in their fields and a passion for teaching.
  • Each camp we take the Light on Lecture – Long on Labs (LOL-LOL) approach. Expect to have a ton of fun while learning new technologies.
  • All camps include a variety of fun break activities, indoors and outdoors, including games, challenges, and social time.
  • This year we have added a Field Trip on Wednesday that adds fun, excitement and learning.
  • Campers will be paired in teams by age and/or skill level for hands on group activities that provide project based experience in developing from concept to reality.
  • As the camp comes to an end, they’ll present their new creations and show off their skills to family and friends.

Details

  • Ages: 6-12 (grades rising 2nd thru 7th) Please call for exceptions.
  • Tuition: $325 / week
  • Camp Duration: 5 days
  • Day / Time: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Extended Care: 8:00am – 9:00 am or 4:00pm – 6:00pm ($35/week for one or $60 for both)
  • Meals: Two healthy snacks included. Lunch not included.
  • 8:1 Student to teacher ratio
  • Location: TYKE Center – 64 Sycolin Rd, Leesburg, VA 20175

Sample Day Morning

  • 8:00am – 8:30am: Extended Care (morning). Extra lab time, gaming, or experimenting.
  • 8:30am: Student check-in, announcements, ice breakers, team building.
  • 9:00am: Course instruction and project work.
  • 10:30am: Break and snack time (Indoor activities include music, video games (wii, wii-u, xbox), board games, and team-building activities)
  • 12pm: Lunch time

Sample Day Afternoon

  • 1pm: Back to the labs!
  • 2:30pm: Break and snack time (activities include, STEM exploration, board games, flight simulation, outdoor games)
  • 3:00pm: Return to the labs for course instruction and project work.
  • 4:30pm: Wrap-up and Pickup time
  • 4:45pm: Extended care (evening) – Students can continue to work on their projects, or participate in non-tech activities
  • 6:00pm: Pick-up time for extended care (evening)

Minecraft Adventures

Are you a builder, crafter, miner or farmer? Are you more experienced and want to check out some of the latest modpacks and turtles. Showcase your skills with you team and learn how to design your own game by building a map, or battle in an extreme environment. Join us on a Field Trip to the National Building Museum explore building on a whole new level. You will have the chance to explore, create and build together with other TYKE kids. Robotics Adventures

Develop your Robot to rule the world! Or at least the camp scene. We design and build real prototypes and products using the computer hardware components and micro-controllers such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi. We will use LEGO Minestorm EV3 Robots for our older campers while using WE-DO products for our junior campers. Design! Develop! Dominate! Classes fill fast!

Mad Scientist Adventures

As one of our most diverse camps. Mad Scientist Camp takes your child on a daily adventure to several Labs. During the week we will explore the Chemistry Lab, Electronics Lab, Rocket Lab, Biology Lab, and our special Skittles Lab. We will also take to the road and visit the Smithsonian Museum in DC. Zootopia Adventure Week

New Camp! This week kids will have fun learning and exploring various species of animals. As this week is recognized as International Assistance Dog Week, we will learn about ways dogs help people. In returning the favor we will use Robotics and Minecraft to discover ways we can help animals in need. We will also take to the road and visit the Smithsonian National Zoo in DC.
